Privacy policy

A GDPR-oriented structure for the services currently implemented. Final controller details and legal review remain required before launch.

Stand: August 2026

1Data controller

Controller: [COMPANY NAME], [ADDRESS]. Privacy contact: [EMAIL]. These marked placeholders must be replaced before launch.

2Charter enquiries

We process the destination, dates, party size, budget, yacht preferences, contact details and message you submit in order to respond and take pre-contractual steps. Enquiries receive an internal reference and workflow status.

  • Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns pre-contractual steps
  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR may apply to operational follow-up and fraud prevention
  • Optional marketing consent is handled separately

3Contact and professional enquiries

Contact messages may include name, email, optional phone number, subject, preferred contact method and message. Travel-advisor and fleet-partner enquiries may additionally include company, website, country and business type.

4Yacht Advisor

The Yacht Advisor sends your answers — cruising ground, approximate dates, party size, budget band, preferences and priority — to our server so that the fleet can be scored against them. Each run is stored under a randomly generated session key together with the recommended cruising ground and the resulting yacht shortlist. That key is created in your browser, is not derived from your device or your identity, and lets us measure how many runs are completed and which cruising grounds and amenities are asked for most. As long as you submit no contact details, the run holds no information that identifies you.

If you send a yacht request at the end, the run is linked to that enquiry so that your charter specialist can see the answers you gave without asking for them again. From that point the section on charter enquiries applies.

  • Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for the pseudonymous measurement of advisor runs
  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR once the run is linked to a charter enquiry

5Local browser storage

Favourite yachts and privacy preferences are currently stored locally in your browser. They are not synchronised to an Azervane account. Clearing browser storage removes them from that device.

6AI concierge preview

The current concierge element is a visual product preview only. It does not accept or process AI prompts, and no live AI provider receives data through it.

7Hosting and storage

The site is hosted on Netlify. Structured enquiries are stored in Netlify Database and uploaded operational images use Netlify Blobs. Appropriate processor and international-transfer documentation must be confirmed during final legal review.

8Retention

  • Unsuccessful charter enquiries: planned deletion after 24 months without further contact
  • General contact messages: planned deletion 12 months after completion
  • Professional enquiries: planned deletion after 24 months unless a business relationship requires longer retention
  • Yacht Advisor runs without contact details: planned deletion after 12 months; runs linked to a charter enquiry follow the retention period of that enquiry
  • Newsletter data: until consent is withdrawn

9Your GDPR rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. You may also complain to the competent supervisory authority. Send requests to the placeholder privacy contact above after it has been replaced with the verified address.
